To improve the experience on Chyrpe, we’ve made some important updates to how chat messages are handled. More specifically, we’ve expanded our list of filtered words to better align with content guidelines and to ensure that explicit messages don’t slip through unnoticed.
When Explicit Messages aren't allowed, texts containing language that’s flagged as too explicit simply won’t be sent.
Why does Chyrpe have this feature?
Our goal is to create an environment where everyone feels comfortable, respected, and in control of their experience, especially women. By limiting overly sexual or graphic language in early conversations, we’re helping users build more meaningful and respectful connections right from the start.
We know that not everyone uses the same tone or has the same intentions, but when it comes to intimacy, timing and mutual comfort matter. These new chat filters are designed to support that.
How does it work?
We use automated language detection tools to scan messages for content that may be too explicit or inappropriate based on community standards and our own platform policies. If a message contains one or more restricted words or phrases when explicit language is not allowed from the other party, it won’t be delivered.
The goal here is not to restrict expression, but to help conversations get off the ground in a way that’s respectful, safe, and more likely to lead to real connection.
